THE latest North Laine charity comedy night at Komedia in Gardner Street
on Tuesday, September 3 will feature a very special headliner, rising star Maisie Adam (pictured right), recently seen on TV in Mock the Week and
8 Out of 10 Cats.
Steve Bennett, founder of British comedy website Chortle says she “exudes an appealing, quirky energy, and is clearly a natural wit”.
Yorkshire-born, Brighton based Maisie, 25, has also been compared to Sarah Millican and Victoria Wood and has been gaining awards despite her relatively short time in comedy.
She won the prestigious national So You Think You’re Funny new act award in 2017 and last year was nominated as best newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Catch her now on your doorstep before she’s playing stadiums and
doing as much TV as Romesh Ranganathan, who topped the bill at our
NLCA comedy night in 2013 just before he became a national star. Compere at Komedia will be Martin Warren with an array of talented local acts including
James McDonnell, Emily Kennedy-Barnes, Liz Collis, Jack Abela, Bryony No, Charmaine Davies and Kathryn Spencer.
There will also be a raffle with some great prizes. Tickets for the show are £7, on sale now at Raining Books, 28 Trafalgar Street. Any remaining tickets
will be sold on the door at Komedia Studio on the night.
All proceeds go to NLCA and we thank Komedia once more for generously
hosting the room for free.
